Jakob Vinje has been working as a free-lance composer since 1998. During this time, he has written music for musicals, opera, film, and revues, across four European countries: France, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. His music for film includes the score for “Getting Ready in Topanga” directed by Percy Adlon and “Vertige d’une rencontre” directed by Jean-Michel Bertrand. His musicals include “Irren ist menschlich” in 2007, “Fabian” in 2008, based on the novel by Erich Kästner, and “Charlemagne” in 2009. Earlier in his career he served as the vocal coach for the musicals “Cats” and “Phantom of the Opera” in Hamburg. After living in Paris for many years, Jakob now lives and works in Hamburg and Berlin.
