A suicidal loner who lives to 130 thanks to genetic engineering for life extension

Luke is gambler who doesn’t like to take orders from anybody. To pay off his debt, he participated in an experimental medical trial and received gene therapy to live forever. But Luke is tired of this indefinite, miserable life, and he wants out. After killing himself he happily enters heaven and the terrace of the gods. The gods send Luke back to earth to find out why humans are procreating “in mysterious ways.” Luke is devastated; he doesn’t want to go back. But can a curse be a blessing?
